What are the "overdue" Mega Millions numbers?
Right now the longest-waiting Mega Millions balls are 8, 6, 11, 28 and 69 — 8 hasn't appeared in 46 draws. That makes them "overdue" in the headline sense, and in no other sense at all.
The belief that an absent number is "due" is the gambler's fallacy. The gap distribution for a fair draw is geometric — memoryless. After 46 draws without 8, its chance on the next draw is exactly what it always was.
Long gaps are expected, not anomalous. With dozens of balls in play, some will routinely go many draws between appearances. Seeing a long dry spell is normal sampling, not a coiled spring.
We show recency because it's a fair question to ask of historical data — just not a route to a better bet. Nothing about a draw's past changes its next outcome.

Mega Millions gaps & recency Frequently asked
- Which Mega Millions numbers are most overdue?
- The balls with the longest current gaps are 8, 6, 11, 28 and 69. "Overdue" describes how long it's been — it does not raise their probability of being drawn next.
- Are overdue Mega Millions numbers more likely to be drawn?
- No. Each draw is independent, so a long absence does not increase a number's chance. This is the gambler's fallacy.
- Should I play Mega Millions numbers that haven't come up in a while?
- It won't help or hurt your odds — every combination is equally likely regardless of recent history. Play numbers you like for any reason except "due."
